Our Mission - "Getting Back in the Game"

In the summer of 2012 a group of men got together in the home of Chris Alexander in Magnolia, Texas to be challenged to having a deeper walk with Christ. In that same year, Scot Wall, pastor of Magnolia Bible Church, challenged his congregation to share their faith with non-Believing friends and family. Many in this congregation were convicted by this challenge in a way they had not been previously, perhaps ever. Meetings were held in the months of May, June, July, and August where men were challenged from God's Word by speakers who included Richard Robinson, Scot Wall, Tommy Precht, and Jonathan Alexander.

Building on the momentum from the 2012 summer meetings, a group of nine men got together to partner in forming what is now known as Believers Challenge. The purpose of Believers Challenge is to rally Believers together to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are laser-focused on our purpose. Our current emphasis is on men through our summer group meetings, but we encourage women to join us in taking the Believers Challenge.

The members of our Leadership Team have been convicted that men (and women) in the United States have by and large stopped sharing their faith in Christ. The consequences of our failure to be salt and light are obvious to us all as we see the moral decay of our country.

The only solution to man's problem is Jesus Christ. It is not political parties, government, business, education, money, self-help gurus, or social welfare (although these all have their place in improving societies). Man finding God has always been, and always will be, the key to living a successful and meaningful life.

The Believers Challenge is simple as reflected in the four following steps.

Step #1: In the next 30 days pray that the Lord will bring to your mind people in your life who need to hear the Gospel. As part of this process, pray that the Lord will purify your heart (II Chronicles 7:14).

Step #2: When their name comes to mind, contact them and arrange for a meeting time. Pray for this time that the Holy Spirit will open their heart and mind and that He will give you the right words to say. Feel free to use the Seven Lesson Gospel Cards in preparing and sharing.

Step #3: Meet with your friend or family member and share with them the Gospel. If the opportunity presents itself, lead them to Christ (consider using the Billy Graham's Sinner's Prayer). You might also consider leaving with them a Gospel Tract, including the Seven Lesson Gospel Cards.

Step #4: Follow-up with your friend or family member. If they placed their trust in Christ, see how they are doing and encourage them to become part of a Bible-teaching church (if you have not done so already). If they did not place their trust in Christ, let them know you are praying for them and are available to be an encourager answer any questions that they might have.
